Changes to the phlebotomy service at the Mary Potter Centre

URGENT UPDATE – Phlebotomy service (Blood tests) for Fairfields / Forest / Highgreen Patients

Phlebotomy is not part of the core GP contract and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire County Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) commission the phlebotomy service for Fairfields / Forest / Highgreen Patients.
From 01.04.2022 the CCG have been unable to secure a provider for a phlebotomy service for Fairfields, Forest and Highgreen Patients. The CCG have come to a short-term agreement with Nottingham University Hospitals that Fairfields, Forest and Highgreen patients can attend Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital for blood tests.
There are two clinics offering blood tests, one at each hospital campus. The address for each hospital is:
• Queens Medical Centre Phlebotomy Department, Derby Road, Nottingham, NG7 2UH (For routine blood tests for people aged 12 years and older)
• City Hospital, Hucknall Road Nottingham NG5 1PB (For routine blood tests for people aged 16 years and older)
City Hospital and QMC campuses are open Monday to Thursday 7am–5pm and Friday 7am–1.30pm and request patients arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closure. Busiest times are Mondays and between 8am–11am daily.
You can find out more about these services by visiting: https://www.nuh.nhs.uk/phlebotomy/
We continue to work with the CCG and request the CCG commission a local phlebotomy service for Fairfields, Forest and Highgreen Patients, and that this service is delivered at the Mary Potter Centre.
If you have any issues / concerns about the commissioning of phlebotomy service, please
contact the CCG patient advice and complaints Telephone: 0115 8839570 or Email: [email protected]
